Top 3 Financial Websites

As a debt relief attorney that deals with people in financial distress, I believe it is extremely important for my clients to educate themselves about credit, savings, consumer lending practices and trends.  For bankruptcy purposes one must complete a credit counseling course and a debtor educational course.  These courses are about 30 minutes long each and can be taken over the phone or online.  Although beneficial, these courses are not continuous and do not provide further educational content once completed.
There is a plethora of financial advice that can be found online; there are websites claiming to save you money, make you money and the best ways to resolve monies you may owe.  After speaking with my clients the three below sites seem to be the most widely used and have the most useful financial content.
1. Credit Karma.  www.creditkarma.com
Credit Karma was founded in 2007 and provides free access to credit scores, reports and even credit monitoring.  The goal of Credit Karma is to educate consumers and provide free credit monitoring which will help protect from identity theft, provide updates from your credit profile, such as an increase or decrease in your credit score and to match you with a credit card or bank loan that may be best suited to your financial needs.  Credit Karma is a free service that makes money by accepting fees from banks or lenders which they recommend to their users.
2. Money Hax. www.moneyhax.com
Money Hax was founded in 2016 and is quickly becoming a widely used site for saving money on things we are already buying and introducing its members to the newest financial applications.  Money Hax shows its readers how to save money through concepts such as card linked apps, price differential refunds (its like having free price drop insurance), and an automated bill negotiator for recurring monthly expenditures such as cable and phone bills.  Money Hax is an easy to use site for anyone who wants to be even more financially savvy and utilize great ways to save on a daily basis.
3. Nerd Wallet. www.nerdwallet.com
Nerd Wallet is sort of the starting point for all things financial.  From their financial guide to moving, to how to pay for college, to how to open a bank account, Nerd Wallet covers it all and does it well.  Nerd wallet even has a home valuation tool that is simple and somewhat fun to use to see what your or your favorite house may be worth.  Nerd Wallet has much more content than other sites about bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosure which I found to be refreshing, more importantly the content itself was accurate and objective as well.
